Pan Am Episode 3: Kennedy Is in Town and He Likes Stewardesses; We're Going to a Party!

By Michael Fitzgerald Troy

What should you be reading? The Ladies' Home Journal? (Probably.) You'll just have to settle for my latest commentary on ABC's delicious new "Soap Opera in the skies," Pan Am.

Kennedy is in town and he likes stewardesses; we're going to a party. That could easily sum up the entire episode, but I'd like to look a little closer at the extra smokehouse almonds we were treated to this flight.

"Take My Breath Away" is a a Berlin song and, this week, the girls' flight destination in the opening sequence. Throw in John Fitzgerald (no relation... Maybe!) Kennedy, and you've got a whole fondue pot full of fun! I said it before and I'll say it again - if not a million more times - I love Christina Ricci, and her role as Maggie continues to intrigue me. A Pan Am Flight Attendant is tantamount to being Stewardess Barbie, and there's not a gosh darn thing wrong with that. Maggie is the Stepford stewardess with her perfect walk and wave, but I suspect a very messed-up background behind that veneer of perfection. The show and appeal of the show may seem style over substance, but it continues to develop without losing its style. It's also revealed that my favorite French whore, Colette, was 3 years old when Nazis occupied France and isn't too fond of Germany's U.S. atonement.

Throw in a little noir C.I.A. Intrigue, and you have a TV show. I came to fly, and I think I will. Pan Am airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on ABC

Michael Troy is a deeply superficial person. Born in the midwest in the '70s, Michael came to Los Angeles to pursue his bi-polar career path as an actor and artist. 2005 saw the release of Michael's first published book, Homo-Hero's Big Book of Fun and Adventure (www.greencandypress.com). Michael has contributed to the Lady Gaga comic book from Bluewater Productions and has his hand in various other upcoming projects. Michael has performed stand-up comedy at all of the major comedy clubs in Los Angeles and is making his triumphant return to the main stage of The Comedy Store in September. Michael offers an off-beat sense of humor as the star of such youtube cult classics As The Gays on Film (www.youtube.com/fullfrontaltv), A Minute With Margot, a loving tribute to Superman legend Margot Kidder (http://www.youtube.com/user/rktcommander), and currently hosts a vlog style series Lethally Blonde over at www.monsterburg.com. Sitting alongside industry heavyweight Phil Jimenez at the "Divas and Lassoes" panel for the 2010 San Diego comic-con, Michael maintains and cherishes his "underground" status. A staunch believer in Blonde Ambition, Michael hopes his new comic about shallow blonde super heroes in Los Angeles, The Blonde Squad, will set the world on fire (or at least brighten it a bit). Check out Michael Troy and Lethally Blonde updates here!!!
