#GeeksCare: How You Can Help Puerto Rico and NorCal Residents at Halloween ComicsFest with Jacob Semahn

When Fanbase Press is not providing you with the latest in geek news and entertainment, the Fanbase Press staff hopes to offer our readers a myriad of opportunities to give back to the community. We love reading comics, watching movies, and playing video games, but we are never happier than when we are able to help others in need. With Geeks Care: How You Can Help, Fanbase Press will provide you a variety of causes that would greatly appreciate your time.

For the latest edition of Geeks Care: How You Can Help, the Fanbase Press staff would like to share news about an upcoming comic book signing at Comics Factory in Pasadena, CA, as part of the shop’s Halloween ComicsFest 2017!  Taking place on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 12 – 7 p.m., the event will feature writer Jacob Semahn (#1 with a BulletGoners) who will be signing copies of his comics (published by Image Comics) from 12 – 4 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting the hurricane victims of Puerto Rico and those affected by the fires in Northern California.

Those in attendance at Halloween ComicsFest will receive free comic books, plus there will be lots of fun giveaways and a costume contest!  This will be the sixth annual event for Comics Factory, which brings Pasadena-area readers the very best selection of comic books, graphic novels, and trade paperbacks…ALWAYS at cover price!

Semahn’s upcoming series from Image Comics, #1 with a Bullet, is an exciting sci-fi story with six issues in the works.  Synopsis:  Her social media, strong. Her variety show segments, a hit. Nash Huang is at the top of her game. But when the iRis Shutter contact lens hits the market, Nash’s life is personally invaded. The latest leap forward in “technological progress,” these contacts not only play video or augment reality…but also record footage. Fighting to keep her life together after a leaked sex tape goes viral, a clingy super-fan is the last thing on Nash’s mind…but that’s exactly when the bodies pile up and the terror begins.

We hope that you will stop by Halloween ComicsFest 2017 at Comics Factory on October 28 to not only celebrate comics, but to support Semahn in his effort to raise funds for those in need.

If you have a volunteer opportunity or an important cause that could use the assistance of a few geeks, please email the details to barbra (at) fanbasepress (dot) com.
