#CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Monster of the Week #1,’ ‘Shifter,’ and ‘Avowed’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Giant Monster 6ba

Project #1: Monster of the Week #1
What it’s about: A giant monster/kaiju book with the wonky tone of Adventure Time, Monster of the Week tells the story of a mid-western United States in which every year a giant monster falls from the sky one day a week, every week, for three months and the children who are out to conquer one.
The coolest backer reward: It’s probably cheating to talk about the blank variants our amazing interior artist, Mike Vasquez, is doing since they’re the most expensive, so I’ll say “The Thursday” is my favorite. I’m offering my entire comic portfolio which totals to a 60+ page bundle that includes hard copies of Monster of the Week #1, Lonesomes #1, and twenty-five digital pages of my previously published work.

Project #2: Shifter
What it’s about: The story revolves around our fearless Leader Captain Mika Johnson and her co-pilot Marty Henderson who have to fight for their lives if they want to make it past the Shifters.
The coolest backer reward: We have been sponsored by Hostess, so if you donate $100.00, you will get all prior perks PLUS inclusion in the THANK YOU CREDITS at the end of the movie (delivered when movie complete). Also a signed box of Twinkies from the cast!

MonsterOfTheWeek 1b1

Project #3: Avowed
What it’s about: As she cares for a disabled 40-year-old who never developed mentally past infancy, a young nun-to-be worries God might have made a mistake and so struggles to meaningfully love the man she sees as a body in a bed. This disability-centric feminist film starring Ivonne Coll (Alba in Jane the Virgin and Yolanda in The Godfather II), Bryan Dilbeck (Dumb and Dumber to, Fever Pitch), and Summera Howell (American Horror Story, Blue Line Station) is already shot but needs finishing funds.
The coolest backer reward: For a communal donation of $500, we will provide a copy of the film for a community screening, along with a discussion packet. In this way we hope that long-term care facilities, disability groups, and churches can host their own events and come together as a community to watch and discuss the film.
