I love my webmasterJuly 6, 2012

The Staff of Fanboy Comics would like to wish you and yours a very happy Take Your Webmaster to Lunch Day!  Every year on July 6th, be sure to show your webmaster how much you appreciate their infinite internet handiwork by treating them to lunch at the restaurant of their choice.

Webmasters (or webgoddesses, if you will) are the individuals that keep our websites in working order day in and day out.  From the easiest fixes (Is your computer turned on?) to the most quixotic of errors (Did you try turning it off and then on again?), these highly intelligent individuals enable us to complete our online endeavors with ease.  In order to ensure that your website continues to function as it was intended, the staff of Fanboy Comics suggests that you devote this day to lavishing your webmaster with a fabulous lunch and your immense gratitude.

We hope that webmasters everywhere will enjoy their special day to the fullest!

Marten WeberMostly known for writing intelligent, gay erotica, Marten Weber dips his toe in the geek pool with his first science fiction novel, Bodensee.  A decided departure from the "Papi Porn" of Weber's more widely known tales of Cassanova's younger, gayer brother "Benedetto" and a not-so-angelic fallen angel, "Gabriel," Bodensee is a thrilling, page-turning epic.  Described as "a modern mash-up of Henry James meets The Matrix," sign me up!

This interview was conducted on June 26, 2012.

Who's Who? in the New DC Studio 54: Gaylo.  In another dimension a group of alien sentient disco balls watches and studies human behavior, known as Oral Co.  After a gay hustler falls victim to a rough trick, a nosy member of Oral Co. takes pity on the young, dead ho, accidentally bonding with the corpse. The Oral Co. reanimates the amnesiac hooker, and they adopt the identity of John Dough to fight crime. The only problem is that the orb has a female energy, and the dead hustler is gay! Holy gender benders, Batman! A chick caught in a twink's body!

Michael Troy is a deeply superficial person. Born in the midwest in the '70s, Michael came to Los Angeles to pursue his bi-polar career path as an actor and artist. 2005 saw the release of Michael's first published book, Homo-Hero's Big Book of Fun and Adventure (www.greencandypress.com). Michael has contributed to the Lady Gaga comic book from Bluewater Productions and has his hand in various other upcoming projects. Michael has performed stand-up comedy at all of the major comedy clubs in Los Angeles and is making his triumphant return to the main stage of The Comedy Store in September. Michael offers an off-beat sense of humor as the star of such youtube cult classics As The Gays on Film (www.youtube.com/fullfrontaltv), A Minute With Margot, a loving tribute to Superman legend Margot Kidder (http://www.youtube.com/user/rktcommander), and currently hosts a vlog style series Lethally Blonde over at www.monsterburg.com. Sitting alongside industry heavyweight Phil Jimenez at the "Divas and Lassoes" panel for the 2010 San Diego comic-con, Michael maintains and cherishes his "underground" status. A staunch believer in Blonde Ambition, Michael hopes his new comic about shallow blonde super heroes in Los Angeles, The Blonde Squad, will set the world on fire (or at least brighten it a bit). Check out Michael Troy and Lethally Blonde updates here!!!

Abe Lincoln MTBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

Lizzie Borden took an axe,
And, gave her mother 40 whacks.
When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.

And, Abraham Lincoln? What did he do when he picked up a silver-laden hatchet?  Well, open a can of good old fashioned whoop @$$ and annihilate a bunch of vampires while ending slavery and The Civil War, all at the same time. Or, at least that is what the new film Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, directed by Timur Bekmambetov and based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, would have you believe.

*Please note that this article is an opinion-editorial.

Me Tarzan, you gay.  You choose your battles; you pick your fights.

It should be no surprise to anyone (As they hyped the heck out of it!) that Northstar was joining the ranks of long-suffering heterosexuals by marrying his boyfriend, Kyle.

Should Marvel be praised for championing gay rights or condemned for jumping on the big, gay bandwagon following Obama's day late, dollar short, half-@$$ed endorsement of same sex marriage?  Mind you, I'm not complaining; any furthering of gay rights is good in my book.  You choose your battles.

Thunderbolts is one of those titles that is always good when I read it, and I always drop off at some point for some unknown Bermuda Trianglesque reason.  Luckily, Thunderbolts has a history of re-inventing itself in fun and interesting ways, perhaps intentionally to bring back readers to the title.  They must be doing something right; numbered at #175 is unprecedented with rampant revisions and renumbering ruling the day.

I should say here that I was a huge fan of the b@$tard child of Marvel's Civil War, Dark Avengers.  I was sorely disappointed when it was canceled after only 18 issues.  So, now it appears the latest Thunderbolts makeover comes in the form of a melding with the Dark Avengers concept. Color me intrigued.  I was initially drawn in by the beautiful cover by Mike Deidato, Jr. (That man can draw!) The cover did not prepare me for the surprise I was in for.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

MARC WEBBFanboy Comics recently received information from a reliable inside source regarding the future of Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man films.  Though it has not yet been confirmed, we have learned that Marc Webb, the un-ironically named director of The Amazing Spider-Man slated for release this summer, will not be returning to direct any more Spider-Man movies. It is still a rumor, so take this info with a grain of salt, but if true, it is very interesting, indeed.
