‘Trista and Holt #11:’ Advance Comic Book Review

A lot of Trista & Holt issues seem to open with funerals—generally for whoever was killed at the end of the previous issue. This time, it’s Governal, Trista’s longtime friend and mentor. Too bad, too, because he was one of my favorite characters.

Unfortunately, there’s not much time to grieve, as Trista is still being pursued by the Holt family. So, who is it that comes to her rescue and helps her escape? None other than Issy Holt, whom, if you’ll recall, has fallen deeply in love with her, despite the fact that they’re sworn enemies—and even despite the fact that Trista killed his uncle.

Their escape has action aplenty and involves a car chase and a hail of gunfire. Not to mention a bit of rapid-fire banter between our two leads. It’s enough to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire issue.

Andrez Bergen’s gritty, ’70s noir thriller is a unique and exciting story which gives us new things to love about it in every issue. If you weren’t hooked from the very first issue, chances are you will be by now, particularly now that our titular characters are finally together and can give us that odd couple interplay that Bergen so excels at. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where things go from here.

Trista & Holt #11, along with the rest of the Trista & Holt saga, is available in both digital and print formats and can be purchased online from IF? Commix.
