‘TMNT Ongoing #52:’ Advance Comic Book Review

Well, Thanksgiving is almost here, and I am thankful to have mutants among us. More specifically, I’m grateful for the ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series. For those of you following along, you may recall that our favorite team of heroes had broken up. With Mikey on his own, Raph always angry about something, and Donatello more interested in his friend, Professor Harold, Leo doesn’t seem to know how to keep his family together anymore. Splinter may now be in charge of the once-evil Foot Clan, but with the new Street Phantoms on the rise (not to mention that they have cloaking devices that allow them to disappear!), our pizza-loving heroes need to pull themselves together–and fast!

This month, however, in TMNT #52, it’s Master Splinter who’s in trouble, as both Kitsune and the Street Phantoms wish him dead. Meanwhile, Casey Jones is looking to start some trouble of his own by protecting his self-proclaimed “hood.” And, Mikey may have found a new family in a group of mutants we all know too well . . .

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, but Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, and Tom Waltz really know how to keep a story going while also maintaining its entertaining characters. The ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles storyline has never once been boring! Each month adds new excitement to the story, while also creating anticipation for what may happen next. And, with artwork by Ken Garing and colors by the fabulous Ronda Pattison, this series is equally as beautiful as it is an enjoyable read. Kudos to the entire team, as always!

Until next month,

#TurtlePower
