‘TMNT Ongoing #46:’ Advance Comic Book Review

Wow. Last month was pretty intense for us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans. The good news: Donatello isn’t dead . . . yet. The bad news: Neither is Shredder. And, to make matters even worse, it appears that Shredder has teamed up with Baxter Stockman to get back at our heroes-in-a-half-shell for making a fool out of him during the fight against General Krang. Although, the Foot Clan doesn’t know that their master is still alive, which sounds like another death threat on our turtles.

But, the weird news: Fugitoid has downloaded Donatello’s consciousness into Metalhead, the turtle robot built by Donnie’s friend, Dr. Harold. How? I have no idea. But, in a mutant world, I’ve come to learn that ANYTHING is possible . . .

This month, in TMNT Ongoing #46, to make the situation even weirder, Donatello (as Metalhead) is taking care of his own body. Talk about an out-of-body experience! And, his brothers are each dealing with Donnie’s “death” in their own way.  They should all be lucky to have more than a handful of friends to count on.  But, with the Foot Clan and even The Purple Dragons wanting revenge, things are about to get pretty bad for our pizza-loving heroes!

As always, kudos to Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, and Tom Waltz for a well-written and captivating storyline.  I look forward to each ongoing TMNT issue every month, and I honestly don’t think there’s a better writing team in the field right now.  And, of course, artist Mateus Santolouco is equally as captivating.  His artwork is nothing less than amazing.

Meanwhile, although these past couple of issues have allowed us to cope with the possible death of Donatello, I have the feeling things are about to get much worse for Casey Jones and friends . . .

Until next month,

#TurtlePower!
