‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters #4:’ Advance Comic Book Review

This is it. The end . . .

The end of what, you ask?! Why, simply the greatest crossover comic book I have ever seen! The greatest mashup between heroes the real New York City wish it had. That’s right. I’m talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles AND the Ghostbusters! I mean, who else were the Ghostbusters gonna call?

If I remember correctly, last month our eight heroes fought the evil ghost spirit, Chi-You, multiple times, ultimately freeing their friend Casey Jones from his mind-controlling powers. But, when Chi-You escapes and the Ghostbusters offer to finish him off, our heroes-in-a-half-shell decide to stay behind and help, despite the limited time they have to get back to their own dimension. Their own New York City. Their own . . . pizza . . .

This month, Chi-You brings the fight (and his minions) to the Ghostbusters’ firehouse. But, while some of our heroes fight the evil demon himself and some distract his serv-ants, that only leaves Donatello and Egon to fix the time portal and help get our Turtles home. (But, seriously, who else would we entrust with a job like that?) Question is: will they make it in time? How will they destroy Chi-You? And, can they save the townsfolk Chi-You possesses?

One thing’s for sure: the writing in this entire series has been above par since Issue #1! Major props go to Erik Burnham and Tom Waltz for one of the most amazing storylines both the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Ghostbusters have ever seen! I’ve been truly impressed from the beginning! And, with art by Dan Schoening and colors by Luis Antonio Delgado, this four-part series had its own team of heroes working behind the scenes. They kawabunga-ed some major ghost butt! Bravo to all involved!

Although Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesGhostbusters #4: The Long Goodbye is exactly as the title suggests, it was a goodbye that any reader of this series can only hope is not permanent . . .

#GhostPower! 😉
