‘Bravest Warriors 2014 Impossibear Special:’ Comic Book Review

Hey, Bravest Warriors! Something very special is hitting the shelves this week from kaBOOM! Studios and Cartoon Hangover. So, grab your Gas-Powered Stick, make sure your flux drive is ready, those solar alpacas are in place, and set your course for your local comic shop, because The Impossibear Special is coming your way.

Much like the previous Bravest Warriors special featuring everyone’s favorite cutie patootie Catbug, this special issue contains a bunch of ridiculous short stories starring the one . . . the only . . . Impossibear! One of my favorite things about these special issues is that it highlights the talents of so many different writers and artists who put their own spin on the everyday adventures of the Bravest Warriors. With writers and artists like Jess Fink, Kevin Church, Jeremy Sorese, Kat Leyh, and Nikki Mannino filling the pages of this special with some great takes on the rude rainbow bear, it’s hard not to want more!

While I thought all of the stories were just delightful, my personal favorite was Night Trap, written by Kevin Panetta and with art by Paulina Ganucheau. Maybe it’s because I love whenever Impossibear attempts to solve his problems with the adorably ignorant Catbug via well-plotted plans of violence, or maybe it just made me laugh the most . . . either way, the creative team of Panetta and Ganucheau knocked it out of the park with a story that felt the closest to the main storyline comic as well as sharp, wonderfully colored artwork to match.

From adventures revolving around his bagel-wich and tiny undersea toilets to finding out the answer to the age-old question of “What do Impossibear and Catbug do when the Bravest Warriors are on out on a mission?” Bravest Warriors 2014 Impossibear Special is sure to tickle that funny bone in your sweet bod!  So, don’t be a dummy, Dummy, ask for it at your local comic shop!
