‘The Hunger Games’ Costume Auction Preview and Reception

Greetings, tributes and victors!

Fanboy Comics had the good fortune to be invited (Special thanks to Marsia Powers of Whedonopolis and Mark Sheppard for “greasing the wheels” with President Snow to get us inside!) to a special preview and reception for the official auction of the actual costumes from The Hunger Games film adaptation.

This was the final chance to view the costumes before the public auction taking place on Saturday, November 16th, 2013, and several pieces have a starting bid as low as $100. Blacksparrow’s website offers the following info to fans eager to get their hands on their own piece of The Hunger Games film history:

Over 200 original screen-worn costumes from the hit blockbuster, The Hunger Games, will be on the auction block. Interested bidders can participate in person, by telephone, absentee, and Internet. Included in the auction will be costumes worn by Jennifer Lawrence as “Katniss,” Josh Hutcherson as “Peeta,” Elizabeth Banks as “Effie,” Stanley Tucci as “Caesar,” Liam Hemsworth as “Gale,” Woody Harrelson as “Haymitch,” Lenny Kravtiz as “Cinna,” Donald Sutherland as “President Snow,” Wes Bentley as “Seneca,” and many, many more. Two print catalogs are available for purchase: a softcover and a limited edition hardcover.

The entire collection was acquired directly from the production company and includes, in addition to the wardrobe, costumer documentation and production notes, as well as an archive of continuity photos.

For further info, interested parties can contact Blacksparrow Auctions at (323) 250-3980 or blacksparrowauctions@gmail.com.

It doesn’t cost a thing (We promise, there’s no Reaping.) to check out FBC’s photo gallery from the preview of award-winning designer Judianna Makovsky’s beautiful costume work by clicking here.

And, of course, if you do make a bid on one of these amazing items, may the odds be EVER in your favor!
