Today, Fanboy Comics (FBC) released the 200th episode of its flagship podcast, The Fanboy Scoop: Week in Review, and to mark the occasion, the FBC staff is excited to share that all-around incredible geek Claire Thorne will be joining the show as a co-host!

With New York Comic-Con just under a week away, excitement around the mega con is heating up, demonstrating that the east coast-based convention is one not to be missed!  New York Comic-Con will take place from October 8-11, 2015, at the Javits Center in New York City.  As the 2015 sponsor of NYCC's Artist Alley, ComiXology Submit will be showing its support of self-published comics in spades by giving away limited edition print variants of the most popular ComiXology Submit titles throughout the convention, including Janelle Asselin's Fresh Romance, Farinas and Erick Freitas' Gamma #1, Chuck Forsman's Revenger #1, Natasha Alterici's Heathen #1, and Art Balthazar and Franco's Aw Yeah, Comics #1!

Comic book publisher OSSM Comics (in conjunction with Image Comics) recently released the fifth issue of Sons of the Devil, a series created by Brian Buccellato (Flash, Detective Comics, The Black Bat) and illustrated by Toni Infante. The publisher has been very generous to the Fanboy Comics staff, as we are now able to share a preview of the Issue #5!

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 30, 2015 – After serving as Founding Creative Director of Fanboy Comics (FBC) for the past five years, Sam Rhodes will step down from the position effective immediately.

A few weeks ago, Fanboy Comics was excited to announce that comic book creator Daniel Corey (Moriarty, Red City) would be releasing a new, digital-first one shot called Bloodworth through ComiXology.  The comic, a thriller about an FBI squad in the near future that can probe people’s memories to solve crimes, was written and created by Corey and illustrated by Chris Fenoglio (Red City, Orphan Black, Weird Kids).  With the comic now available online, Corey and his publishing company, DangerKatt, have new and exciting news to report, as a limited-edition print run of Bloodworth will be making its debut at New York Comic-Con this October!

Dear Fanboy Comics Readers:

Greetings from the Shire on this happiest of Hobbit Days! Hobbit Day is the birthday of hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, two fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien's popular set of books, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. In the books, both Bilbo and Frodo were said to be born on September 22, but of different years. Bilbo was born in the year of 2890 and Frodo in the year of 2968 in the Third Age (1290 and 1368 respectively in Shire-Reckoning).

The indie comic book scene continues to develop, expand, and produce incredibly insightful and impactful work with each passing day, and I am excited to share a preview with Fanboy Comics' readers of the soon-to-be released comic, Trans* Planetarium, which that tackles transgender issues, depression, and the impact had on the people around the transgender community.  The comic's creative team [Flip Knox (Story/Letters/Layouts/Logo), John Amberia (Pencils/Colors), Shallamar Muggott (Cover/Inks/Roughs), and Kristine Chester (Editor)] will be launching a Kickstarter campaign later this year to fund the printing of the book.  In the interim, they have been very generous to the Fanboy Comics staff by providing us with an advance preview of Trans* Planetarium!
