Moderator: Barbra Dillon (Editor-in-Chief, Fanbase Press)
Panelists: Sebastian Kadlecik (Quince), Kristen Parraz (Comadres y Comics), Sara Bazan (Comadres y Comics), Jennifer Lopez (Comadres y Comics)
Quince is a 15-issue comic book series being released in English and Spanish about teenager Lupe who discovers she has superpowers at her quinceañera. Comadres y Comics is a podcast hosted by three Latina women hoping to highlight the role that Latinos have in the comic book industry. Join Quince creator Sebastian Kadlecik and Comadres y Comics hosts Kristen Parraz, Sara Bazan, and Jennifer Lopez as they discuss the importance of inclusivity and representation in the comic book medium in a Q&A session moderated by Barbra Dillon (editor-in-chief of Fanbase Press).

Fanbase Press Presents: Things That Go Bump in Horror Comics
Moderator: Michele Brittany (Editorials Manager, Fanbase Press)
Panelists: Bryant Dillon (Something Animal; Identity Thief), David Lucarelli (Children’s Vampire Hunting Brigade), Joel Gomez (Nightmare on Elm Street; La Huerta), and Chris Moreno (Minions of Ka; Dracula vs. King Arthur)
Whether sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories or in a darkened movie theatre watching alien species attack, many of us like a good scare! Led by Fanbase Press Editorials Manager Michele Brittany, join our panelists as they share what inspires them to write and illustrate horror in the comic book medium, the creative benefits and challenges of working this genre, and what they envision for the future of horror comics.

Fanbase Press Presents: Play it Again with Retro Modernism
Moderator: Michele Brittany (Editorials Manager, Fanbase Press)
Panelists: Nicholas Diak (The New Peplum), Tony Fleecs (My Little Pony), Livio Ramondelli (Transformers), Kevin Wetmore (Uncovering Stranger Things)
One can argue that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) marked the beginning of a new “-ism” for the 21st century – retro modernism – which gives reverence to the prior decades’ films, television shows, music, and video games, specifically from the late 1970s through the early 1990s. Stranger Things, Drive, and Guardians of the Galaxy are just a few examples in which their visual and musical cues re-imagine and give homage to their earlier roots. Led by Fanbase Press Editorials Manager Michele Brittany, this group of panelists will discuss how they have been influenced by retro modernism through their writing and art.

Fanbase Press Presents: It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s a . . . Brand New Indie Superhero!
Moderator: Barbra Dillon (Editor-in-Chief, Fanbase Press)
Panelists: Jason Inman (Jupiter Jet), Ashley V. Robinson (Jupiter Jet), Stefano Terry (The Gamma Gals), and Sebastian Kadlecik (Quince)
For the larger part of the last century, the superhero genre of the comic book industry has been dominated by select publishers. Now, independent comic book creators are getting into the game, creating unique stories and superheroes that represent a larger demographic of the audience and the creators, themselves. Led by Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon, this panel features indie creators discussing their new superhero creations and why it was important to launch all-new hero origins.

Fanbase Press Presents: A Fanbase Feature Retrospective on The Dark Knight
Moderator: Bryant Dillon (President, Fanbase Press)
Panelists: Barbra Dillon (Editor-in-Chief, Fanbase Press), Sebastian Kadlecik (Quince), Brian McGackin (Broetry), and Drew Siragusa (The Fanbase Weekly podcast)
Join the hosts of Fanbase Press’ flagship podcast, The Fanbase Weekly, for one of their trademark “Fanbase Feature” panel discussions – this time focusing on the 10-year anniversary of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Along with their special guests, the podcast co-hosts will examine the plot, characters, and themes in this enduring cinematic classic!

We hope that you will join us for these incredible panels, and stay tuned to the Fanbase Press website, Facebook, and Twitter for more details on programming dates, times, and locations, as well as our creator signing schedule and all of the comics, graphic novels, and other items that will be for sale at the Fanbase Press booth!
