Fanbase Press to Launch ‘Fundamental Comics’ Editorial Series

Fanbase Press is thrilled to announce the launch of “Fundamental Comics,” a monthly editorial series that introduces readers to comics, graphic novels, and manga that have been impactful to the sequential art medium and the comic book industry on a foundational level.  Each month, a new essay will examine a familiar or lesser-known title through an in-depth analysis, exploring the history of the title, significant themes, and context for the title’s popularity since it was first released.

Each edition of “Fundamental Comics” will be written by a member of the Fanbase Press team, and every title will be carefully selected for its significance to the industry, the sequential art medium, or pop culture as a whole.  The inaugural essay for “Fundamental Comics” is The Long Halloween and the Price of Justice by Fanbase Press President Bryant Dillon, and upcoming essays for the series will include Spencer & Locke, Fables Volume 1, Ghost in the Shell, Sandman, Marvel 1602, and Serenity: Leaves on the Wind.

“The history of comics is an incredibly rich tapestry, and I wanted to develop a series that honored its past, present, and future,” says Fanbase Press Editorials Manager Michele Brittany.  “I hope that this series will inspire and rejuvenate interest in comics.”

The first edition of “Fundamental Comics” is now available on Fanbase Press at www.fanbasepress.com.  Subsequent editions will be released on the last Wednesday of the month.
