Fanboy Comics to Develop Audio Drama Adaptation of ‘The Odds’

LOS ANGELES, CA – December 7, 2015 – Fanboy Comics (FBC) is proud to announce the development of an audio drama adaptation of The Odds, a post-apocalyptic action-comedy novel written by Robert J. Peterson and published by California Coldblood Books (an imprint of Rare Bird Books).

Set in a barren future after a mysterious worldwide cataclysm, The Odds tells the tale of a good-hearted rogue with only one way to ensure the safety of his family: entering a deadly battle tournament where chess is a full-contact sport.  Filled to the brim with non-stop action, quick-witted humor, kooky technology, and bizarre creatures, The Odds will appeal to fans of movies like Big Trouble in Little China, Star Wars, and Firefly.

The Odds is being adapted for the audio drama medium by Peterson, as well as Sam Rhodes (Something Animal) and Fanboy Comics’ Bryant Dillon (Identity Thief, Something Animal).  Rhodes and Dillon are returning to the audio drama medium after their success with The Katniss Chronicles, an award-winning, fan-made audio drama adaptation of The Hunger Games book series.

Estimated for a late 2016 release, The Odds – Audio Drama will feature 10 to 15 episodes and will be available for purchase through various online platforms.

“I couldn’t be more excited or honored to be working with the team at Fanboy Comics,” Peterson said. “I was so impressed at the job they did with The Katniss Chronicles, so when they said they wanted to give my book the same treatment, I had to pick myself up off the floor. The Odds – Audio Drama will work as a companion piece and — in many ways — an improvement over my goofball of a novel.”

The Odds novel is currently available for sale through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and select book sellers throughout the US.
